The hand-drawn Molligoggle books by Herb Rosenberg are a visual history documenting each year in the life of his son, Andrew who was born on November 27, 1979. The self-published Xerox editions were originally intended to be given each year as a gift to the people who came to Andrew's birthday parties. In subsequent years, after his first birthday party, it was expected if not ‘required’ that an up-to-date rendition be created … and so it was. By the time Andrew was 18 the Molligoggle series were no longer simply a gift for a party but a tradition… which, it had been thought had completed its cycle.* However, when Andrew turned 25, the silver anniversary edition was created. When he received his doctorate in 2009, a Dr. Molligoggle version was added. Currently, Andrew has been making his earthy appearance for 10,968 days.
